Mission Statement
NASA Members are committed to the promotion of quality service in the portable appliance service industry.  We are dedicated to sharing innovative ideas for improvement in all areas of service to members, manufacturers and our mutual customers.  Our goal is to provide excellence in service being respectful, courteous, helpful, efficient and dependable to all.

Who We Are

In late 1948, Mort Mandell, Keith Chamblin, Martin Van Howe, Wilfred Cloutier, and T.C. Kaemmerlen met in Dallas to discuss the possibility of forming an association of independent portable appliance repair shops.  In 1949, the National Appliance Service Association (NASA) was founded to promote the best interests of the domestic/commercial appliance and
electromechanical service industry.

Over the years, changes in the industry have required service centers to become service and sales centers.  Consumers now look to their neighborhood service center for household appliances, electric shavers, personal care products, vacuum cleaners, battery powered children's ride-on vehicles, lawn and garden equipment, power tools, microwave ovens, ceiling fans, and much more.

As the industry has changed, so has NASA.  NASA's membership, comprised of service center, manufacturer and associate (supplier) members, has now grown to 200 companies across the US and Canada.
