Coffee does not stay warm
- Try starting with warmer water in the reservoir.
- Could be caused by lime buildup. Unit may need thorough cleaning.
Coffee tastes bad
- Try brewing a pot or two with bottled or filtered water.
- Coffee itself may be old or stale.
Coffee tastes like plastic
- Unit may need thorough cleaning.
- Can happen with new units; refer to cleaning instructions.
Decanter hard to pour; it drips
- May be an incorrectly made spout.
- Ask for a replacement (if under warranty).
Unit will not heat
- Thermostat may be shutting off unit for safety because of overheating.
- Usually a result of improper cleaning; follow proper cleaning instructions.
Clock will not work
- Double-check that programming instructions were followed correctly.
- If it still won't set, programming function may be malfunctioning.
- Take it to a Service Center for repair/replacement.
Basket overflows
- Unit should be cleaned after 40 brews with hard water, 80 brews with soft water (every
six weeks if used twice a day).
- Too many filters.
- Pause 'n Serve basket, check nipple under basket and trip arm. Water leaks out bottom
- Use only drip coffee.
Water leaks out bottom
- Reservoir may be damaged or hose disconnected.
- Filter basket may be defective; check for evidence of leaks.
- If under warranty, place order for new basket.
