Norelco shavers

REFLEX ACTION SYSTEM, MICRO ACTION SYSTEM
Give yourself 30 days to get accustomed to your new razor or replacement heads. If you are not getting as close a shave as you expect or if your face becomes slightly irritated it may take three or four weeks for your skin and beard to adjust to a new system.

It also helps to:
Wash your face and neck with soap and warm water to soften the whiskers. Thoroughly dry your face before shaving. Norelco does not recommend pre-shave powder sticks or gels. If using a pre-shave lotion, wash your hands before picking up the razor. Pre-shave lotion can loosen the glue that holds the decorative discs on the shaving head. Lotion on the hands can cause the razor housing to bubble over a period of time.
Stretch the skin taut to accommodate difficult shaving areas. Use a circular motion and don't press too hard. Too much pressure can pinch the skin into the combs.

If the quality of your shave has diminished, you need to clean the cutters and combs. Clean heads are the key to a close shave.

Once a week, (or more often if necessary) brush whiskers from the comb slots. Then lift off the razor head assembly and brush hair from the underside of the three cutters and the razor chamber. Do not tap heads on the sink to remove whiskers. This may dent or damage the precision-made slotted combs.
Every other month (or more often if necessary) remove each of the cutters and combs from the retaining plate, keeping each set as a matched pair. Brush whiskers from the cutters and soak in liquid cleaner.
Also remember to protect the heads:
-- Always store the razor with the protective plastic cap in place.
-- Never open or close the head assembly while the motor is running.

[Tips To Extend The Life Of Your Cutters And Combs]

The self-sharpening rotary blades are precision-made to give close shaves. Cleaning and maintaining the heads as recommended will improve the life of the heads and quality of the shave you get.
About once a week (or more often if necessary), use the cleaning brush to remove any loose whiskers from the comb slots. Next, lift off the razor head assembly and brush hair from the underside of the three cutters and from the razor chamber. [Cleaning Brush Directions]
About every other month (or more often if necessary), remove each of the cutters and combs from the retaining plate, brush, soak in liquid cleaner, and lubricate.
TO DO THIS:
[1st Step] While holding the Razor Head Assembly in one hand, press center wheel down while turning counterclockwise to release the frame. Lift off and set frame aside. Remove one cutter at a time from the Razor Head Assembly. (Each cutter and comb is a matched set, do not interchange them.) [2nd Step]
Clean each head individually. Separate the cutter and comb, and use a gentle upward motion to brush the hairs trapped in the blades. The long bristles on the brush work best for this. Soak each cutter and comb set in Norelco Razor Cleaner, Model RC1776, or rubbing alcohol for 15 to 30 seconds to remove remaining debris and facial oils from the cutting edges. Air dry on a clean, flat surface. [3rd Step]
[4th Step]
Replace each cutter and comb in the Razor Head Assembly when it is cleaned. Then replace the frame and lock it in place by pushing down on the wheel and turning clockwise. Press Razor Head Assembly back on the razor.
[5th Step] After cleaning and reassembling the razor, spray with Norelco Razor Lubricant, Model AL80, or put a drop of mineral oil over the heads with your finger and turn the razor on to spread the oil around. This lubricates the heads and allows them to rotate without resistance.
